But why is it that we yearn for wealth so oft? gold? Power? Social term? extravagance? Pride? Furthermore, why does wealth subterfuge us from important things, like impost?In the beginning of The penny-pinching Earth, we ar introduced to an impecunious, young farmer, Wang Lung, who, due to his fathers arrangement, ends up marrying a brown common, patient face up slave with the name of O-Lana.
